In this paper, 3D printing method is applied to the design of ship anchor system. 3D printing is introduced briefly and the process of traditional anchor design method and its disadvantage are summarized. Then the 3D drawing design and 3D printing method for anchor design system are detailed described. The research work at present shows that accuracy and strength of the anchor and chain produced by 3D-printing can meet the requirement. Finally, the economy of 3D printing application is briefly discussed. The successful test shows that 3D printing method of anchor design can replace the traditional method and promote the development of shipbuilding technology.
