Marine diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system has the advantages of both the diesel propulsion system and electric propulsion system, such as high redundancy, flexible operation mode, energy saving and emissions reduction. It has gradually emerged in China in recent years with the efforts of domestic scientific research institutes, universities and enterprises. Many kinds of ship including Ropax, public service ship, fishing boat, research vessel and tug have adopted diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system. As the first tug that uses fixed-pitch rudder propeller diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, ¡°Haigang 711¡± has diesel propulsion, motor propulsion, boost mode and motor (motors acting as generator) variable speed power generation mode. It can be taken as the reference for the design of other diesel-electric hybrid propulsion ship.

KEY WORDS: diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system; harmonic suppression; speed range
