level of intelligent ship control is raised with the development of sensor and the breakthrough of artificial intelligence, and unmanned shipping will soon be realized. When the unmanned vessels are navigating at sea, the basic information about the surrounding vessels can be obtained through the AIS system. However, special vessels such as coast guard do not have an AIS system. In this paper, the target detection and recognition algorithms for visible images of the sea are studied. The deep neural network is trained to identify the ships in the picture taken by the onboard camera.
