Simulation Research of Rainfall Air Conditioning System

This research is based on the air conditioning system of the wheelhouse on a polar transport ship, where air distribution is divided into two paths, one is indoor air conditioning supply and the other is window defrosting. The air conditioning supply is in term of rainfall - a new technology for ship building both in design and construction. Simulations are carried out to obtain the indoor air distribution of rainfall system. Temperature field and velocity field of different height and different distance from the outlet are acquired by setting different supply air volumes and temperatures. System performance can be judged by PMV and PPD value. A model cabin including ceiling, wall panels and access door is established according to the shape and size of the actual cabin. Software AIRPAK is used for simulation, and the effect of air supply is analyzed under similar boundary conditions and different air supply modes. Then the air conditioning system design of the wheelhouse is further optimized based on the comparison of the results of experiment and simulation. The research will be of great reference for the design of air conditioning system of wheelhouse in the future.
