The application software in the monitoring and control system is very important for the performance and even for the security of the system. There are many logic and parameters in the software. Even small changes may have unpredictable consequences for the system, and changes of software are less obvious than that of hardware. Therefore, the important application software in the monitoring and control system should pay attention to the configuration management of the software to ensure the correctness and integrity of the software, and to ensure that the monitoring and control system is working safely and properly. This paper analyzes the characteristics of the application software of monitoring and control system, combines the software with the engineering practice, and points out the key aspects of configuration management including the configuration item selection, and puts forward some specific suggestions.
