As the SOx/NOx emission limit will come into effect globaly on 1st January 2020, shipowners and ship designers pay more attendtion to the solutions to comply with the emssion control requirement. In this paper, the solutions for LNG fuel tank have been investigated, the feasibility of LNG as a fuel of vessels, including 20000TEU large container ship, 135000TEU large container ship, feeder container ship, 400000dwt VLOC, VLCCand 210000dwt bulkcarriers have been studied. The SOx/NOx emission limit reqirements and the main solutions are briefly introduced, and the solutions for LNG fuel tanks are presented. Then, the solutions for LNG as a fuel of vessels, including container ships, VLOCs, VLCCs and bulkcarriers are inverstigated and presented respectively, which provide alternative options to comply with the emission control requirements for the ship insdustry.
