plenty of energy is released during the regasification of LNG. At the same time, the refrigerated provision stores and air conditioning system for technical spaces consume a lot of electricity, especially on cruise ships. A cold energy recover system using water-propylene glycol as the secondary refrigerant is proposed and designed, with which the refrigerated provision stores and technical spaces could be served. To obtain the optimal configurations for the cold energy recover system, the thermal efficiencies and economic analysis are conducted in all the cases. The influences of the key factors, such as the design refrigerated capacity of cold room, freezer room and technical spaces are also analyzed. Furthermore, the economic analysis is conducted as well to evaluate the cold energy recover system for future engineering application.
KEY WORDS: liquefied natural gas (LNG); cold energy utilization; process; economic analysis; refrigeration system; air conditioning system; green technology
