AMP technology has been widely used in response to the national green environment initiative. This paper gives a brief introduction to the AMP system and its actual response plan based on a 400000t ore carrier built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.. The selection of the high-voltage cable model and its length is described in detail, and the special requirements for DNV-GL “SHORE POWER” additional notation are elaborated. Finally, an optimization suggestion for the AMP system on the existing 400000t ore carrier is given in considering of the route of the fleet.
