In Fukushima FORWARD (Fukushima Floating Offshore Wind Farm Demonstration Project), JMU constructed two floater parts of offshore structures, ˇ°Kizunaˇ± and ˇ°Hamakazeˇ±. Kizuna is a floating substation which was installed in 2013. Hamakaze is a FOWT (Floating Offshore Wind Turbine) which was installed in 2016. In this paper, we focus on the structural part of Kizuna and Hamakaze and introduce the outline of structural analysis for each structure. We also introduce how we make use of measured data to verify the method of design. Concerning Kizuna, we verified plausibility of structural analysis by analyzing strain data of actual structure.
KEY WORDS: floating offshore wind turbine; floating substation; advanced spar type structure; structural analysis
