In response to the increasing number of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), it is necessary to enhance the inefficient and outdated fishing vessels for the littoral sea of Korea and to develop next-generation fishing vessels. This paper employs hull form variation method to obtain fore-body hull form of 19 gross tonnage class of a coastal composite fishing vessel in calm water. Chine line modification (shape, breadth, etc.) has been used for hull-form variations. Objective function is the minimum value of wave-making resistance. The potential-flow solver has been used to obtain the wave-making resistance.

KEY WORDS: hull form variation; wave-making resistance; chine line
