The present study aims to analyze propulsion performance of a water-jet by towing tank model tests, designed for operation in low-speed conditions. A 1/4.5 scaled model was used for the tests. The static pressure around the duct, thrust and torque of the impeller, and flow rate were measured with advance ratio variation. The relationship between the flow rate acquired by laser Doppler velocimetry and impeller thrust was obtained. Based on the relationship, the hydrodynamic performance of the elements of the water-jet system was investigated and it was found that the water-jet propulsion efficiency decreased in high advance ratio conditions.
