In this paper, the influences on the global performance of a jetty moored Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) or Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) in a near shore shallow and less sheltered water are presented and evaluated. The evaluation focuses on the effects of water depth, mooring line length, fender stiffness, vessel interactions, and bathymetry on wave field, as well as wind, wave and current loads. The overview of the latest industry development on the guidelines for the assessment of environmental load and near shore mooring system is presented.
KEY WORDS: FSRU; FLNG; near shore; fenders; shallow water; jetty mooring; industry guidelines; bathymetry
