A Study on Acoustic Radiation Efficiency of Simply Supported One Side-Wetted Rectangular Plate Based on Mindlin Plate Theory

This paper describes a numerical method to analyse acoustic radiation efficiency of one side-wetted Mindlin plate with simply supported boundaries and proposes its new approximate formula applying infinite Mindlin plate theory considering fluid loading effect. The proposed approximate formula can separately consider monopole, corner and edge mode regions below critical frequency and critical region above the critical frequency, in which the critical frequency is determined by Mindlin plate theory considering fluid loading effect. To verify the proposed approximate formula, acoustic radiation efficiencies obtained by the numerical analysis and the proposed and existing formulas are compared and discussed.
